The intent is to provide a permanent home to web pages and other information that might otherwise disappear from the web due to abandonment, loss of interest, and so on. There is no charge for archiving information here, nor for accessing it. In the spirit of the early internet, even of the early computer industry, this is not about making a profit, but about doing something that needs doing, simply because it needs to be done.
